VPA Phase III (HERRMANN HOUSE Washroom Annex) Project
Background: The VPA over a number of years of effort successfully drove the development and completion of the dedicated pickleball facility at Marshall Fields. The surface facility opened in August 2018 and the enclosure opened April 2021. It represents a significant lifestyle improvement to those of us who love this game. Our Club membership is and should be very proud of the time, money, expertise and labor contributions we made to deliver this facility not only to ourselves but to the entire City of Vernon.
Why Phase III? This will address our permanent occupancy permit deficiency. It will complete our facility and will continue to provide a safe, year-round environment for Club members, youth and the general public to play Pickleball for generations.
The Opportunity
The VPA can once again lead the effort to complete a positive amenity to the City of Vernon. While we are the primary beneficiaries, the lifestyle of others today as well as in the future will be positively impacted by your investment. The VPA has demonstrated that our driving the project with skin in the game will get us a much faster and better result than any other strategy.
The VPA raised over $1.7 million for our existing $2.2 million facility.
Matching Program
To encourage donations for this estimated $600,000 project, Myron & Suzanne Hocevar will match any donations pledged (members, Club, public) from July 1st to August 31st of 2022 up to $200,000.
Conditions
The donation pledges will be collected only after City approval of the building site is granted and a charitable tax receipt process has been put in place (target October 2022)
